Talk to someone
The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation offers free, confidential counselling through its 24-hour helpline: 0800 006 008. You can also find its WhatsApp contact route on the linked official page.
Put limits in place before playing
Decide how much money and time you can afford to spend. Use the operator’s deposit limits, time reminders, time-out or self-exclusion tools where available. Ask support how to activate them and what they cover. Keep essential spending separate and never borrow money to gamble.
Signs to take seriously
- Depositing more to try to recover a loss.
- Hiding spending or the time spent gambling.
- Using money meant for rent, groceries or repayments.
- Feeling unable to follow a limit you set yourself.
You do not need to wait for a crisis to speak to a counsellor. Consider telling someone you trust and asking for help putting distance between you and gambling accounts.
Taking a break
Leave the game, stop promotional notifications and ask the operator about exclusion. Blocking tools and bank gambling-payment controls, where available, can add practical barriers. A limit on one account may not cover other accounts; ask what your chosen protection actually includes.
Adults only
This site is intended for people aged 18 and over. Keep account access and payment credentials away from children. No promotion guarantees a profit, and gambling is not a solution to financial difficulty.
